Visiting Momma's first home.

This is Oliver in front of my parent's first house after moving to the States.
This was my first home as well and I wanted to bring Oliver to see it.
It's located on Alki, and if you not familiar with that area, condos are very in.
Most of the houses that littered the boardwalk have been bulldozed and transformed into multi million dollar condos. Only a few remain, ours being one of them.
Hence I wanted little Oliver to get a picture with it before, God forbid, it gets torn down.
Our unit is the one for rent. Wish I could afford Alki property! Ha!

Bath monster!

Getting ready for his bath!

Look at those blue eyes!

Little Oliver was not fond of bath time the first few times.
Though he's getting better about it every day.
Being on his tummy is his favorite for sure!

Sitting up...with aid!

Oliver is just too cute! I haaaaad to show him off!

Such a good sleeper!

Our Bubba.. [we gave him that name at the hospital, don't know why, but it stuck] has been sleeping amazing through the night. As you know, he was struggling at the beginning and crying for hours and hours at night. I'm proud to say for the last week he's been averaging 4-5 hour blocks at night. George and I are night owls so we don't mind staying up really late. He has his last feeding around 1 usually, and then we don't hear a peep out of him until 4, 5 or even 6 on one occasion! I know he's only 3 weeks and 3 days old and things could change, but we're grateful in this moment for the amazing little sleeping boy we have!

He's getting better!

So for those who don't know, Oliver had a rough first 2 weeks. I'm guessing it was colic-like, though it is hard to diagnose so early on. It definitely had to do with his tummy. I could tell when he'd try to get to sleep at night that all of a sudden he would get very uncomfortable. His whole body tensed up and he would just cry and cry and cry, then he would stop and try to get back to sleep. Unfortunately he would be woken up again by tensing up and then beginning to cry. It was absolutely heartbreaking. Not only do I have no idea what I'm doing in terms of taking care of an infant, but having him cry really breaks any shred of confidence that was had. I just felt like I wanted little Oliver to feel better but there was nothing I could do. As a mother, not being able to help your child, sucks!

Luckily, and hopefully I'm not jinxing myself, we're on night 3 of Ollie actually sleeping during the night. I'm hoping his tummy problems are over or at least not so bad. Yes it is 1-ish o'clock in the morning and I should be taking advantage of the sleeping baby, but I'm so used to being up right now! I'll sleep eventually. I'm letting George get his rest now, so I can sleep during the day. Ha!

Oh what a life.
And I wouldn't change it for absolutely anything!

We Stole!

Thanks to Aga & Jeff, we, or should I say I [Izabella] decided I wanted a sweet blog too.
So many people want to know all about Oliver and see pictures of him I thought I'd set up a centralized place for that.

I guess I should start with the basics:

Oliver James Buchanan was born January 3rd, 2009.
He was born at 5:01 p.m.
He weighed 7 pounds 7 ounces.
He was 20 inches long.
His head was 12.5 inches around.

Oliver is the love of his momma's life!
