Elijah and Oliver

These boys don't get to see each other nearly enough!
But we had a play date today!!!
They're both such big boys now, I can't even believe.
I though it was especially cute when Oliver took Eli on a ride on his dump truck!

Grandpa Buchanan's Gift!!!

Even though George's dad lives far away, he never forgets about his Oliver!
He sent a package that included the bib that's in the following pictures, along with a card [that's been scapbooked already], a stuffed animal [Halloween theme], and pumpkin shaped Peeps! I forgot to include the stuffed animal in these pics so don't you worry, another shoot is on the way! And mommy ate the Peeps!

[Oliver has a leaf in the pic above! He loved it.]

Preparing for Halloween!

Mommy decorated the house today. Not completely done, but proud of how scary it is! I wanted Oliver to get some pictures with it even though none of the ones I've posted really shows it!
We haven't carved our pumpkins yet so I thought it'd be cute to get Oliver with a few of them outside at least.

P.S. His shirt says 'I want my Mummy' with a mummy on it! Priceless!

Forgetful, Forgetful

I have wanted to post this since Oliver was about a month old. Kept forgetting!

Early on George and I learned our 'B's.

Boppy, binky, bottle, burpy, and baby!

At 9 months we're down the boppy and burpy.
Soon will follow the bottle and binky.
But we'll always have our baby!
[Believe me, I'm a mommy to a baby boy.
He may be 45 one day but he'll still be my baby!]

Dinos Dinos Everywhere

As most know, Oliver's theme has been dinosaurs! From his bedding to his clothing. We love to find all sorts of dinosaur related items for him. Of course when shopping for Robeez, I had to get the dinos. These are in a lot of pictures but I thought I'd show them off while they're still in semi-okay condition! They have after all survived endless chewing, food [don't ask], a pumpkin patch, and every other surface he has managed to walk on.

I regret not buying him some when he was younger. These things are amazing! Perfect for a baby that will take anything and everything off of his feet!

From Just A Second Ago...

This is Oliver's favorite position. He began as a side sleeper and still is, but man does he love the butt in the air position!

P.S. check out the dedication to the binky. He's not gonna lose it!

Grandpa's Hunting Trip

Grandpa will be leaving bright and early [4 am] for Colville tomorrow with a friend to hunt some deers [they eat people; don't ask; its true] and Oliver decided he wanted to sneak away with him.

I couldn't help but take a few pics. He was even wearing his Grandpa's Sidekick bib.

Fate!

Copy Cat!

This boy will learn to copy almost anything!
A couple days ago Daddy put his finger up to Oliver's mouth while he was making noise and moved it up and down.
[I hope that's a good enough explanation.]
It made Bubba crack up! I just witnessed it for myself today, but Bubba can do that to himself. If you do it first, he'll join in with a monotone hum, then puts his finger to him mouth, moving it up and down. Silliest thing ever. I cannot believe how much he's learning!

Taking Steps

Oliver has been taking about 1-2 steps regularly for the last few days.
My dad watches him most weekdays while I'm interning, and has noticed yesterday and today that he's increased the number of steps to 3. He's not pulling that number consistently but its a start.
Just last week he would stand there and be too scared to take a step, he's just lean forward until he fell.
It's funny what a week does!

That dump truck has done wonders for his walking!

By the way - Oliver figured out how to maneuver his truck from being stuck. When he pushes it into something or into a corner and he can't go forward, he's learned to step over to the steering wheel [from the back end] push the truck backwards, then turn it around.. Then he grabs on to the back and pushes it in the other direction.

He's honing his problem solving skills!

Poisoning.

We had a scare.

I nanny for my old boss from Bath & Body Works.
Naturally she would own home fragrance products from there. [You can't not spend money when you work there]
Anyway, she had an oil warmer on the window sill with some oil in it, not lit thank goodness. This was previously unreachable for Oliver, but apparently being almost 30 inches tall, he decided to try to reach for it.
Taking care of 2 kids is a lot harder than 1 bc you only have one set of eyes.
Before I know it, I'm putting little Gemma down bc I hear screaming. I run over and have no idea why he's crying until I notice brownish orange stains on him...then I smell it. THEN I see oil on his hand, all over his face/head/back and most importantly around his mouth!
SCARY!
I called George at work crying, he sped about 100-110 mph from Fife to downtown Seattle, rushed up the the apartment and took Oliver to Urgent Care on Capitol Hill [I only had Oliver's car seat, poor Gemma woulda had to ride in my lap, not exactly something I'm willing to do!]. P.S. he made it that distance in less than a half hour. If you're from this area, you know that that is insane!

The good news is, he's fine. The doc said he may have had a taste but not enough to harm him.

Nonetheless still very scary.

Teethies teethies...

#5 is in!
I just noticed it last night while putting jammies on Bubba. A lot of it is out which is weird bc he did NOT have anything there the day before. This toof is a fast one. :]

#6 is close to cutting. Yikes!

Not that big?

Yesterday was Oliver's 9 month well check up!

Here are the stats:

Weight: 20lbs 4oz - 41st percentile
Height: 29 3/4 inches - 88th percentile

He's taller than I imagined. I think his legs are just short and his torso is long. He has to wear 6 month bottoms but can do 9 month tops. Unfotunately he's got a lot more 9 month pants so he trips on them often.

I can't believe his next check up will be at a year!!!

Teeth #3 & #4 pictured!

You might have to click on the pic to see it on a larger scale, but those top teeth are coming fast!

Pumpkin Patch!

I promised myself I'd only pick 5 good pictures to share with everyone but Mommy went crazy with the camera yielding too many good pictures. Oops.

We came to this same farm when I was pregnant last year and I distinctly remember having a conversation with George about how crazy it'll be that our Oliver will be almost 1 year old next year around this time. We talked about bringing him to this pumpkin patch as well. I CANNOT believe that it's been a year. So so so much has happened between then and now. It kinda gives me goosebumps!

Enjoy!

It was way too hot for that hat! Beautiful day.

What is this thing?

What is this king fu move I've got going on?

"I'm taking THIS one home!"

Going Mushroom Picking.

He really experienced a family tradition today. Without mommy or daddy sadly, but that's okay. While we were both working Grandma and Grandpa and Ciocia took Bubbs to Snoqualmie.

Chewing on his Robeez bc somehow they really relieve his teething pains. :]

All bundled up in the cold!

Cutest hat ever!

I got it as a 12-18 month bc I figured his head will grow into and it will be colder after December. So its a little big but he's getting used to it.
