Christmas Eve Dinner

For those of you who don't know, in Polish tradition, we have the big dinner and open presents on Christmas Eve.

Here's some pictures from dinner. Oliver spilled his Sparkling Cider all over himself so he ate naked. Hahaha. Lukily we had some extra clothes for him to wear other than his nice church outfit that we put on him later.

Who needs delicious Polish food when he had candy canes and satsumas?

Playing Together..Sort Of?

I enjoy this when it happens. I cannot wait for the day that Scarlett can sit up and actually 'play' with Oliver.

Daddy and Daughter

I've said this before and I'll say it again, I'm absolutely, amazingly IN LOVE with these two together. I have such a great relationship with my dad and he was, and continues to be, such a rock in my life. I'm so excited for Scarlett to have that and to have George experience what its like to have a precious, little baby girl!

Grrrr

She was gonna fight anyone who wanted to steal her bottle!

Santa Picture 2010

We talked up Santa for a few days before we got this picture taken. We went to Southcenter at the beginning of December to see Santa too, but just see him, not take pictures. I was hoping that if we prepped Oliver he would not throw a tantrum. Um...can I say wishful thinking?

The next day we got the kids dressed up and went to see Santa again. Oliver was really excited. As we stood in line he pointed toward Santa and was really happy when we told him he would be giving him presents. He was completely fine until the moment that I let go of him on Santa's lap. He started screaming and kicking [he kicked off his shoes]! There was no stopping him until the moment Daddy picked him back up. Once George grabbed him he was perfectly fine. He took a candy cane from the basket and waved bye to Santa like nothing had happened.

I have to give the Santa credit, he had an action plan from the beginning. He told us to hand over Scarlett first since she wasn't gonna go anywhere, then he told us that we were going to set Ollie down, he was going to grab him and we needed to run to the side so they could take pictures quick! He was so calm about it...he was DEFINITELY a professional Santa. :]

Drama Queen...er..King?

Right before Oliver's bedtime he was hanging out with Scarlett on her tummy time mat. He was going to lay next to her so I asked him if I could take a picture. That was NOT okay by Oliver so he said "Noooo mommy!" After that he was all butt hurt, as he gets now that there's another little human stealing his attention. Scarlett kicks her feet wildly now so as Oliver was getting up she touched him. "OUCH" "OWIE" he yelled, the he got up, ran a little ways, threw himself on the ground, and played dead.

His sister's touch was enough to make him play dead. Really? Yes, really. This, ladies and gentlemen, is what my everyday life consists of!

He is so dramatic...reminds me of someone I know....Oh yeah, ME!

1 Month Anniversary

...of Scarlett sleeping through the night will be on Christmas Day. Yup, one lucky momma right here. :]

Mom and Dad

Dzia Dzia

To die for...Cute!

Bath Time Experimentation

She needs to be bigger and sit up better to get a better shot. But I thought I'd share this with you all.:]

ABCs

Oliver sings the ABCs all day long. He only gets to E then he makes it up. You can hear him say LMNOP, QR then it more making it up. Then he starts it all over, over and over and over. It's really cute though!

Still Drooling

Ollie started drooling at 3 months. It hasn't gotten better since. I've spoken with multiple doctors about it, but they all tell me it's teething. It may very well be, but for almost 2 years in a row, everyday, no stopping? Kids don't teeth like that. I personally think it's a swallowing issue but no one will refer me to a speech therapist. I was always told that at 2 we would reevaluate the situation since it should go away around 2...It has slowed down a little bit, but he still gets everything wet.

See photo:

He's my drooly boy and I still love him a lot!

Ugly Christmas Sweaters

Hold tight for our family pictures...

The Motherload!

I know what you're thinking. These are all basically the exact same. Yes, yes, I know they're repetitive...but COME ON! She's adorable! Hahaha. She is laughing now and I haven't been able to capture it on film yet, so I was clicking for dear life when she started to make these cute faces!

Scarlett's Baptism

Finally it's over! I love the idea of getting my children baptised, but the class and the planning, etc wiped me out. Mass went well...for the most part. Scarlett was great! She got a bit whiny during the actual baptism part but that was short lived. She didn't even flinch when the water was poured on her head or the oils were put on her chest and head. I thought for sure she might start screaming! Now Oliver on the other hand...
He was great at the beginning but he is not able to sit quietly for and hour so my dad had to take him outside once he got too crazy!

I'm in love with these two together!

This is everyone with Scarlett. My oldest cousin, Michal, is the godfather, but he is in Poland so he couldn't be here for her baptism, but we didn't forget about him!

The action!

The ONLY picture of these 2 together from the whole thing.

2 Months

Life has been hectic and busy so I don't have time to post anything elaborate! Or any pictures for that matter!

Scarlett had her 2 month check up on the 15th.

Weight: 10 lbs 15.5 ozs
Height: 22.5 inches
Head Circ: 15 inches.

She was in the 50th percentile all the way across. She's strong, healthy, and thriving and that's all that matters. :]

Hanging Out

I love how animated Scarlett is becoming. She's smiling and cooing. I love to hear her exercise her voice. :] She is also strong!! She reminds me of Oliver because he was so physically ahead of other babies his age. She is so good at holding her head up. She can sit up with me just holding her hips AND she can support her weight on her legs. Not even 2 months old yet! Oh and on Saturday I had her in bed with me in the morning and I could tell she wanted to get up because she was kicking her legs and tensing up. She wasn't going to wait for me so she...AND I'M NOT MAKING THIS UP...she lifted her whole head and neck off the bed in a crunch like motion. I was stunned, but she did it two more times!!! She is FAR more calm and collected than Oliver was, but she is just as ambitious. Help?!

Oliver is still being the best big brother ever! Last Sunday while we were at church he threw such a tantrum, but I was actually proud of him, believe it or not. We were in the baby room and a little girl [probably Oliver's age] kept coming and touching Scarlett's car seat. There is a stuffed bird attached to it and I think that was what she wanted to play with, but Oliver was not having it. He sat on the side of the car seat and kept swatting the girl away. "Sissy!" "NO" "My Sissy!" He kept yelling!

He is so protective of anything of hers. It is so sweet to watch. Growing up I always wanted a big brother that would protect me, so I am more than happy that my daughter will have that. I'm so proud of my kids!

8 weeks, 3 days

We're just 2 days shy of 2 months old. WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE?

She has been so much fun. I keep telling everyone how 2 kids is so much better than 1 and it really is. It can get stressful at times but at the end of the day I wouldn't trade it for the world. My kids are THE coolest little people I've ever known.

But Its Raining

He was ready to go with Daddy...though it was bedtime, pouring, and he had no clothes on. He makes me laugh so hard every day!

Scarlitto

Daddy likes to call her Scarlitto. Hahaha. Anyway...had to start this post with this hilarious picture! It's like she's saying, "I'm gonna eat you...Ahhh."

Oliver spent the night with Babi and Dzia Dzia so we took the opportunity to take some pictures! She is such a little doll!!

Bubbers.

He was so proud of building that all by himself! He usually doesn't get them all in the right order and he knocks it down after he stacks just a couple. This was left up for probably 4 days.

Accidental pictures are often the best. :] LOVE HIM.

Update

Well... I completed my first week back at work and it turned out better than I had imagined. It was hard leaving Scarlett at daycare at such a young age. I balled my eyes out for most of the morning!! I just kept thinking how unfair it is to her since Oliver got to stay at home until he was 13 months. But realistically its something that had to happen and I take comfort knowing that she's with Oliver all day. As jealous as he can get, he has one mighty protective streak.

Just this last week as I was getting Scarlett ready to go home, one of Oliver's little playmates [she's 2 and adorable] was getting too close to Scarlett [for Oliver's comfort]. He slapped her and said "MY baby!". Haha, he 'gets' it and for that I'm grateful. He is such an amazing big brother!

On that note, the little girl he whacked is pretty much his girlfriend. Haha. They play together every day and they almost look like twins. They're the same height and build, and they both have blue eyes and blonde hair. ADORABLE. Anyway, I was picking up the kids from daycare on Thursday and her mom was picking her and her brother up and as Oliver was stepping out the door they both ran at each other and gave each other the biggest hug. You would have cried if you were there. Cute exploded everywhere in that moment.

AND THE BEST PART: Scarlett is still sleeping through the night! Amazing for both George and I since I just went back to work and he started a new job. And if this wasn't amazing enough, she's beginning to go to bed earlier and sleep in later. I don't know what I did in life to have 2 babies that sleep so well but I thank God every day. And I'm hoping He let's me have at least one more with the same sleep powers. :]

Oh and breastfeeding is still going strong. I noticed a huge fall in my milk production after going back to work, but I'm working on getting it back. I think it's just a change in routine and added stress. I have enough to feed her each day I'm just not producing the extra 8-16 ozs a day I had been. Either way I have so much frozen that I'm not worried. Daycare has enough to last at least another 6-8 weeks [unless she starts eating a ridiculous amount all of a sudden] and if I can produce enough to at least feed her in the AM and after work, I'm happy. Ideally I'd like her to be breast milk fed for 6 months at the least...but I can happily say that if my milk dried up today, I still consider this a success! I reached my goal and that's all that matters. [My goal: to breast feed longer than I had with Oliver]

Tummy Time, Etc...

I got her at the end of a smile! Grrr... Still trying to get the actual smile!

Oliver decided to share his toys. A Fire truck the size of her... Sure.

This one's my favorite bc you can see both their eyes.

LOVE kissing pictures.

Snow Angels

This was Ollie's first snow angel during the snow storm last week.
