The wedding we attended was right at the edge of Battery Kinzi at Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend.
Here is a link: http://fortwiki.com/Battery_Kinzie to see more photos of this battery. There is some great history attached to this almost monument.
Ollie climbing the stairs:
There were so many rooms and ladders leading all over the place:
This was at the top, central "room". There were guns mounted here for easy shots towards the water:
Here Oliver climbed through the hole onto the top pavement:
More random stairs!:
Here are a few shots of the kids inside an indent in the concrete. Oliver was holding on tight to Scarlett so she wouldn't fall. Once she started squirming it started looking more and more like Ollie was choking out Scar Scar!:
Yeah, mommy stepped in. :):
And here they were standing inside and HOLDING HANDS!!
We had a lot of fun here. Battery Kinzi is built right on the water so the views were BREATHTAKING!
A little scary having Oliver want to do everything "by myself" when the ledges were immense and there were very few railings on very steep steps. A fall to the concrete below would be bad news!
