Scarlett and Feefs

Scarlett is really funny. A bit mean, but funny overall. She can go from being cuddly to totally annoyed in 2.5 seconds. Totally a girl.

She's more nurturing than Oliver was when she was an infant but overall she is not playing 'Mommy' or wanting to hold or take care of Felix. She would much rather jump over him or shove toys in his mouth. She's like the third boy I never had, she's extreme!


Anyhoo, these are some funny of the two of them.

Pumpkin Patch 2008-2011

2008
Here's a fresh faced, 22 year old me. 30 weeks pregnant with Mr. Oliver and actually my very first time to a pumpkin patch.

2009

Our first year as a family of 3. Look at little 9 month old Ollie!!

2010
Scarlett's first time! She was just 2 weeks old here. And look how precious Oliver looked. He still looked like such a baby as he was only 21 months old. Not even two!

2011

Last year. What a huge difference one year makes for little missy sissy, as we call her. Scarlett looks so grown up this year! And Oliver's perfect surfer hair. I hope we'll get there again...we're growing it out. :)

Pumpkin Patch 2012

I can't stress how happy I am about my insistence to visit the pumpkin patch as soon as October hit. The weather was still gorgeous and we pounced at the first opportunity.  The only down downside was how dry it was. Very dusty and the pumpkins didn't look as healthy! Probably because the vines were dried looking and brownish instead of a beautiful, hearty green after it rains.

Scarlett was her trademark diva-self, refusing to partake in any activities and getting upset over everything. Nonetheless I think we all had a good time. Oliver loved walking deep into the patch and finding the perfect pumpkins. Felix was just happy to be outside and didn't mind my putting him in the wheelbarrow or amongst the pumpkins on the dirt. 

Squish Squishing Sis

Haha. Scarlett is very headstrong and a little tough to parent at her current developmental stage. She tends to get her way unless I feel like yelling and arguing.

Scarlett is also a fan of Felix's toys; big and small.



First I just to to show the world a picture of my chunky, little (huge) baby. I just want to eat him up!

Here is Scarlett getting a dose of her own medicine. She refused to make way for Squishy after I told her she had to move. I did not feel like arguing so I told her she'd have to share the bouncer. She obliged and I set Felix in top of her. It goes without saying that he was a bit heavy for her. Scarlett was squished by her Squishy!

Mummies...and Daddies?

Oliver is hilarious. I was turning Dollar Tree pumpkins into mummies and asked him if he knew what a mummy was. I wish I had the picture of them handy...

Anyway, he told me yes, so I asked him to explain what they were. He got a bit stumped so I got the impression that he in fact had no idea what a mummy was. This thought was confirmed when he asked me,

"When you're done making the mummy pumpkin, you'll make a daddy one?"


Yes, Oliver, I will make a daddy pumpkin too. I could not stop laughing.

Felix In A Pumpkin

This was so much fun to do with Felix. I knew from the time he was born I was going to attempt this. He was the only baby I've had that even had a chance! Luckily I scored with a very good tempered baby and a big enough pumpkin. Daddy cut the pumpkin out, I stuck Felix's feet through the arm holes of an old tshirt, and stuck him in. He was a bit upset right off the bat, but turned into a ham very quickly.

Thank goodness for days in the high 70s at the beginning of October otherwise this would not be possible. Also, Felix was having so much fun in the pumpkin that I had to stop myself from taking photos. I'm so used to snapping away until someone cries or throws a tantrum that I actually had to stop myself because Felix was laughing and smiling away!!

I get super crazy around fall time so decorations were up and pumpkin patch visited by the first weekend of October.

Superheroes

I live in a home full of super heroes!

I ended up making the kids some capes out of old T shirts. They loved them! I was going to cut them a bit shorter but both of the kids really enjoyed having them long ans flowy. It was fun to watch them play and pretend to have all sorts of super powers.

And here are their Halloween costume preview! They are obsessed with the super hero thing so I decided to make it a theme. The whole family will be heroes. Luckily Scarlett's bday party is going to be a Halloween themed costume party so we'll have lots of opportunity to wear our costumes!

I'm pretty sure Oliver's bday will be super hero themed at this point...

Oliver the Artist

I think I had mentioned before how Oliver's definition of drawing was lines. He would take each crayon he had and draw one line in each color on a piece of paper. I was kind worried about when he would begin drawing actual things. Finally he began with some easy shapes...now he's making really intricate things!

The pictures below are people/ He draws a circle for a body and arms, legs and hair. Then he adds facial features. Pretty cool, huh?

Oliver is also a pro at drawing cars. I'm so proud!

Family Time
